We do it all. We are both optometrists registered with the General Optical Council, 41 Harley Street, London to perform all the various stages of the eye-care process. We pride ourselves in offering precise sight-testing and eye-examinations using the latest Nidek automated system, to absolutely all ages. From your new born baby, to the folk in the Nursing Home for the elderly around the corner, we relish the chance to impart our skills to benefit your quality of life. We have already been struck by just how many people who knew us from all our years as partners at Eye Design Opticians, Ruislip, have chosen to follow us here. Over the years we have saved countless people from a life of visual impairment and a lot of people are very grateful to us.
• We are well experienced in detecting all the leading causes of sight loss (Macular disease, cataract and glaucoma) as well as some of the obscure ones. David has a recent Diploma in Ophthalmology (Middlesex University) so he has just about seen it all!
• We have the ability and equipment to check your eye-pressure accurately without that irritating “puff of air”! This NO-PUFF is a major breakthrough, since the understandable apprehension before the air blast could raise the eye’s pressure, giving false readings.
• An eye-test with ourselves may also reveal general health conditions such as high blood pressure or indeed diabetes (one million Britons are totally unaware of the fact that they are actually diabetic!). Nothing, however can replace a regular checkup with your GP. We liase closely with all local doctors.
• We can give you a guided tour around the front and back of your eyes using the best imaging technology. Indeed, we use a 12 mega-pixel Canon camera for your retina and a Sony video chip for the anterior.
• We can check your peripheral vision with hospital standard Humphrey equipment and interpret the results with the latest software on a dedicated computer. This combined with NO-PUFF pressure readings and a thorough high resolution, photographic view of your optic nerves constitutes a very precise check for those at particular risk of glaucoma (which includes all aged over 60). The earlier glaucoma is detected the better the outcome.
Our delight is what we call the HO-ME smile! That is the smile we see when you experience our care. We challenge you to find a better blend of personal, experienced care combined with the very latest in equipment to check your vision.
